Holidays,and Other Things

So,for Halloween I was a disturbed mental patient,and went over to a friend's house for a Halloween party.I've still been doing rides.For Christmas,I already have my boyfriends gift from swagbucks,which did save some $.Definitly trying for a few other things from there.Tonight I'm going to an early Christmas party,and I'm going to have fun,though I still don't know what I'm doing for New Year's though.

Recycling Tips

Here's some simple,helpful recycling tips that can save you some $,and help out the enviroment.

1.Recycle plastic bottles (#4,and 6 aren't recycable),glass bottles,newspapers,tin cans,magazines,bottlecaps,plastic/paper bags,aluminum foil,batteries,cardboard boxes,aluminum cans,and old electronics.

• All of these go into new paper,plastic,and aluminum/steel products,and puts less stress on the earth,plus less materials goes into landfills,and into the soil.
• Less material is needed to create new paper,and plastic.
• Plastics use oil as part of the process in making it,so less gas would be used to make new plastics,dropping gas prices.
   

2.Reuse plastic/paper bags,boxes.

• Plastic,and paper bags can be used as trash bags,amongst other things.
• Boxes can be used to store things.(duh)
• Reuse a plastic bottle,and refill it a few times.

3.Instead of throwing out fruit,and veggie cores,and pits or moldy fruits,and veggies,use it as compost for the garden.

• The parts not eaten can put their nutrients,and water back into the soil,plus it's free.

4.Buy local,and organic.

• Buying local,and organic also uses less gas since they don't have to travel as far.
• Organic won't have all the pesticides,and incesticides.
• Plant plants native to the area.

5.Turn off lights you don't need,reduce vampire power,and unplug things when fully charged.

• This saves you $.
• Less coal is used,and puts less co2 in the atmosphere.
• Things like tvs that are off are still using power even when off because they turn on quicker,and to power the standby light.

6.Instead of walking to the store up the street,walk or ride your bike up to the store.

• This saves gas,and gives you exercise.
• You can tie a wagon to you bike or put baskets on it if needed for bags,and such.
• And instead of using a plastic bag to carry 2 small things,and a receipt,just carry the items.

7.Try getting electronic things with the energy star label on it.

• These electronics will use less electricity.
• Saves you $,and saves coal.
• Replace windows with energy efficent ones.Air can leak out,and the heat/air will keep running,and running,and keep the windows,and doors closed when the air's running.

8.Donate,and buy used/old clothes,and toys.

• Other people can use them or buy them for less,and saves water,and oil.
• New clothes uses water,and oil in production.

9.Use CFL bulbs.

• These use less electricity,but put out the same brightness as regular lightbulbs.
• Once again,saves $,and coal.

10.Use water conservately.

• Fix leaks.Leaks waste alot of clean drinking water.
• Use watersmart seeds.These use less water,and they hold it longer.
• Don't leave water running longer then needed.
• Fill the dishwasher,and washer(run cold water) before running it.
• Airdry washed clothes.This cuts about 6% of your energy bill.

11.Carpool

• If you live close to somebody you work with,trade off driving however you want to.This saves both of you gas,and puts less co2 in the atmosphere.

12.Adjust the thermostat.

• By setting the thermostat to 68 in the winter,and 72 in summer,this uses less electricity,and saves $.

13.Try getting solar or wind-generated power.

• Solar,and wind power make their own electricity,and doesn't give off co2.
• Yes,solar is expensive to begin with,but it saves alot of $ in the long run,plus you have to clean the panels every once in awhile.
• Enough sun falls on the earth each day to power every home in the world for a year.

 

Rides

Ok,so I've still been doing rides,but I've been riding mainly with Lincoln County,and it's awesome.It's definitly busier,and had a few serious calls there.Idefinitly can't wait for halloween.I'm definitly getting almost done with clinicals.

Summer

Summer's been really hot,and dry.I haven't really done a whole lot this summer since I've still been doing alot of clinicals,espically last month or everyone's been busy.This 4th of July was the 1st time I've been home in awhile as well.I did watch fireworks with a few friends though.I am starting to get close to finishing clinicals for my license :) There's still a few things I still want to do before summer's over,and it makes me sad we haven't done a camping trip yet though.

Anniversary

I graduated from medic school on Saturday,and it was awesome!It was also the 1 yr anniversary for me,and my boyfriend.He brought me flowers for graduation :) We ended up going to Main Street for dinner,and to the Mills for a little bit.It was awesome!

Yesterday I was with 1 friend all day.We ended up going to school,hanging out with friends there,going to her house,going to the library,going to another friends' house,and we hung out in the basement for a little bit with her younger sister,and her friend.We also went to another friends' house,then went to mall,ate,and walked around.I also got a new jacket from Hot Topic.It's so soft on the inside!!!!!1 friend ended up buying the Situations' book.We finally went bowling,then went to Steak 'n Shake,then finally went home.I ended up texting a friend at 2:45 am,and woke him up.It was funny!

Graduation

So,Saturday I finally get to graduate from medic school,and it's awesome,and considering all but 2 of us passed our pratical this past weekend in Memphis.All of us went to Beale Street that are over 21 Saturday night,and it was a blast!Now all I need to do is finish my clinicals,and pass my written,and I can get my medics' license,and then finally get into the fire academy eventually.Memphis was my 1st time clubbing,being in a cab,and my 1st jello shot though,even though I barely drank on Beale.

Things I'm Not Allowed To Do At Hogwarts

#1:I won't poke Hufflepuffs with spoons nor will I insist that their house colors indicate "they're covered in bees."

#11:If a classmate falls asleep in class,I won't take advantage of that fact,and draw a Dark Mark on his arm.

#17:Seamus Finnigan isn't "after me Lucky Charms."

#42:42 isn't an acceptable answer to every question on the OWLs.

Being 21

I'm 21 now,and it's been ok.I haven't drank a whole lot,but I have finally gone inside a casino.I haven't gambled once though because I haven't had a real urge to gamble at all.
